Once upon a time, dirt was sacred.
You and I were the King and Queen of the realm of children.
I picked weeds as flowers and didn't know the difference.
We dug in the dirt with your Sesame Street tools. They were old and the paint was worn.
And you—You were shorter than me… ha!
When we swam you could never catch me.
So many Halloweens: Beauty Queen and Spiderman; Princess and Football Player;
I spent the night at her house and cried (your house was safe).
We envied his Lego fortress—the floor fell out!
We knew all the places to hide (I still know them but I don't go there any more).
Blue lips.
Secret clubs.
One-armed dinosaurs
I've been told to write a poem, which brings me here.
Write! I am told, Create! they say,
like it just happens, like I can be forced to say something meaningful.
I call for my muse, but she won't come.
She's waiting for a time when I really have something to say.
My pen scrawls on the page
writing contrived words with no great meaning.
I could write a poem about nature, or love, or life,
but I don't, nothing works.
So instead I sit here,
my shackled creativity forced to hammer out lines
like a member of a chain gang,
and I write this poem
about nothing.
I'm falling for you
And I think i'm going to crash.
I'm trying to slow my descent,
but I lost my brakes somewhere along the way.
I keep rocketing down, falling like a shooting star
but can this star make my wish come true?
Here's to hoping you'll catch me,
because hitting the ground would leave me broken.
Caged.
in a word, my worst fear conveyed
my heart desires freedom
i crave exploration
i yearn for new horizons and new experiences
Flight.
a simple goal of my life
my heart desires the unfamiliar
i wish to explore everything
i want to see the world
Independence.
simply stated, a cry to be on my own
my heart desires its own way
i carve my own path
i will not let you decide for me
Freedom.
the ability to fly untamed
my heart desires the wild
i shall see where the wind takes me
i promse to be an unpredictable adventure

Resident Evil 4 Review
You push open a heavy steel door and find yourself in a dimly lit stone chamber. The only sounds you can hear are your feet hitting the dilapidated steps as you descend into the blackness. Suddenly, you hear another sound... breathing? You look around, alarmed. You press on cautiously until you come to a jail cell. You've found the dreaded dungeons of the massive castle. You realize you aren't the only one in the room: a tall, muscular prisoner stands patiently in his cell, breathing heavily. He stares blankly, as if he doesn't see you. On closer examination you find that the captive's eyes are crudely sewn shut. You recoil in horror, but the
I love working with color photography so much more than black and white... The photography teacher at my school says the only artistic photography is black and white... I for one, can't believe she's so audacious as to make such a ridiculous comment. Sure, black and white has it's places... even some of my photos are black and white... and there are plenty of brilliant artists who only use black and white... but I prefer color. There's so much emotion and vivacity that can be displayed in color that I think get missed in black and white. But that's just my opinion. :P
I've returned... with a new love! It's photography. :P I got a digital camera for my trip to Europe and I *love* taking pictures... So, here's my attempt at art with a camera. ;) I'll admit I've had no formal training and I'm not very good, but it's something I enjoy. I'll also be throwing the occasional poem on the site. Hope you all enjoy them. :)
Hey everyone! I'm back in action on DA with a new screen name! *If you who know it could refrain from mentioning it due to privacy reasons, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!* The CitrusSister name came from the middle school camp I helped at a couple of weeks ago. Some girl in my group had this towel that had velcro on it... what better way to use velcro than to make the towel in to a cape? Hehehe. So, I put on my towel cape and ran around like a girl having way too much fun with a towel. :P I told all my girls that I was a super hero, and they dubbed me Citrus Sister (lime green towel) and so I received the call to save the world. :D
So,
Thanks for the comment & fave! I love the content of your photos. I think they can have a lot more colour though; they seem pretty washed-out, and I don't know if it's the camera or if you can fix it on the computer. But I love the gallery! [link]
Wow!
